Auf dem Vulkanmassiv des Argaeus stand ein Heiligtum, was durch das astrale Symbol an der Spitze des Berges angedeutet wird. Durch die Erruptionen des Vulkans, die bereits zur Zeit Strabons beobachtet wurden, galt dieses Massiv als religiös inspirierender Platz.
